Post Installation Help [nCo Mod] - Problems after the installation ask here.
Yet another blank forum admin page
Ok so you’re reading this and thinking god damn can't this person use the search function or read stickies?
Well I have and none of the things that have worked for other people are fixing my problem.
After installing NCO 7.6 Ultra I can do everything but get into the forum admin. I get the fabled blank white page.
I've read through this site's forum and Nukecop's nothing seems to work.
If I install plain vanilla 7.6 or 7.7 the forums work no problem.
That being said I don't want to use anything but NCO nuke.
I really like the look and added security.
Just too name off a few things I've tried upgrading Sentinel, played around with the code of mainfile.php and some other files, reinstalled about 6 times, checked the DB about 15 times, and just for fun messed with file permissions.
I can pull up a phpinfo page if anyone would care to take a look.
Obviously this has to be a file problem or a php/mysql settings problem. (Ok well maybe not but it sounds like it too me.)
One other thing.
Nukecode I sent you an email regarding another problem I have been having with this site lately please let me know what's up with that.
Try commenting out the code for sentinel in the mainfile.php and see if that helps.
Let me know.
I hate too say it but I tried that one. It didn't help.
I tried it again just for the sake of argument right now.
I've reinstalled again just too have a fresh copy for everyones suggestions.
I may have found a temp fix.
I read in the forums of another guy fixing the same issue by moving his config.php file (aka settings.php) around.
He moved it back into his httpdocs folder because he though it was a good idea too leave it outside of the public_html folder.
So I decided too move the settings.php from the conf/ to the main directory and rename it config.php.
I know thats not a good idea and NCO does otherwise for security but for now it solves by blank forum admin page.
Now I have 2 problems with this solution:
1. Aformentioned security issue.
2. I have no idea why this fixed the problem.
If anyone would care too shed some light on this and give me a better (more secure) solution I would be very grateful.
Well it works but with a bounch of errors. SQL and file missing errors.
If you want I can take a look at it. i'll need FTP, admin and cpanel access.
You can leave me a Private Message with the info.
Have you had another chance too look at my site Jae_9?
I'm still having the same issues even after trying your first suggestion concerning permissions.
