Donloads
did a search to see before I posted this but nothing...hope it;s in the right forum.
How do I stop HTTP Referers? I went to the site and I'm guessing they are linking my downloads on their site, using my bandwidth...how can this be stopped?
Like how ya'll have the activation number before the download and also trying to make it to where u have to register before u can download!
The easiest way in my opinion would be to us NSN GR Downloads module. It has options in which you must type in the secuitry code to download the file. With a regular downloads module you dont have to do this since it doesnt require a secuirty code to download. More experienced people would do this by creating a .htaccess file in there root but this is for more experienced people that understand how htaccess works. I dont recommend the second option to you since your experience is not that much. If you are using NcO 7.6 ulrta it comes standard with NSN GR downloads module you just have to go in and configure it. If not then you will have to download and install it for specific build of php-nuke you are running on your site. Hope this helps you out. And to have it where you have to be registered in order to download just login to your admin panel go to modules find your downloads module click edit and make it viewable to registered members only that will fix you on that one.

On a side note:
The way people are able to link to your downloads is the stock nuke downloads module shows the link to anyone who happens to click on the modify download link.
NSN GR Downloads hides the link so there is no way for someone to just see it.
