Forum Avatars Not Showing

Here's a simple little trick for sites where the forum avatars don't show up in the forums or in the users profile.

It's basically a small glitch in PHP-Nuke which showed up around 6.5 and as of 7.2 hasn't been fixed.

If your avatars don't show either right away or after you change some info in your account... Simply move the avatars....

Go to modules/forums/images/avatars/gallery and DOWNLOAD all the .gif files in (Do not download the gallery folder just the images inside of it) the Folder and reupload them to modules/forums/images/avatars leaving the contents of the gallery folder intact.

I tried this and it didn't work. Am I doing something wrong?

When I go into the user account, there is no choice for choosing a avatar. In my profile, being the admin, there is a choice. Everything is checked and the correct path to the avatars is there.

Go to your Admin Panel>>>> Forums and make sure that "Enable gallery avatars" is set to Yes. If "Enable gallery avatars" is set to No then only the admins can have avatars. If that doesn't work let me know and I will inform NukeCode and he can delve deaper into this with you when he returns from vacation Friday.

everything is set to yes.

I noticed something else, when I look in the configuration on the forums for avatars, you can see them. When I look at the configuration inside the user profile you can not see them. I have tried every combo of a setting for the avatars and the galleries. Not sure what to do.

PM me on the site we'll see if we can't set something up to get your site fixed

I have the same problem. Did anyone figure out a fix for this? The posted fix did not work. Sad

SGH

Upload the images alone to modules/forums/images/avatars
