Hacking attempt!

I keep getting this errror "Hacking attempt!" when I try to delete, move, lock, or split a post that was made on my froums.

I know it's something in my root/admin folder I just dont know what. I installed vWar in the wrong folder then unistalled it. By that I mean I deleted the MYSQL and all the files ecept those that where in the root/admin folder.

Is there some place I can go to get all the files in the nuke root/admin folder? I'm using 7.8 i believe.

PHP-Nuke 7.8

thanx!

well damn i am running 7.9 not .8

nvm I installed nuke-evo and just carried all the MySQL stuff over.

i get the same error when i click on the forums...i just tryed updating from forum version 2.0.20 to 2.0.21 . i just updated all the way up from 2.0.17 and all the other updates went well but now i have a problem with this one...im running nuke version 7.9.

There isnt a version of bbtonuke 2.0.27. Before the update did you do a backup of your site and sql file? Also did you update to the correct version there is a bbtonuke updates for nuke patched and for sites that arent nuke patched. I would suggest that you figure out which bbtonuke patch you used and if you used the correct one.

i ment 2.0.21 and i used the nonpatched on from the downloads section of this site ( the only one there is for updating to 2.0.21). and yes i have backups but wouldnt think that i would need it if i did the exact same thing on this update that i did on all the other ones. everything else on my webite works, just the forums.

If you used the non patch bbtonuke update on a patched site you just broke your forums. You cant use the non patched bbtonuke updates on a patched website.

i dont think i have a patched site...i used non-patched updates for version 2.0.17 - 2.0.20 and everything worked just fine. thats why i was wondering what was wrong.i didnt even see a patcheddownload available anyways for version 2.0.21 so thats why i figured that it had to be something i did or the file itself.

I would suggest that you actually do the update again. Could be you uploaded a corrupt file or missed a file on upload. If you patched it to 2.0.20 with no problem using the non patched bbtonuke updates then your site isnt patched. My suggestion would be to upload all of the files with the patch you could of missed a file.

i did it twice and still same problem...is it possible that if it was uploaded to the wrong folder would it mess up? im not saying i did that cuz i cant see what folder i would have put it in but...who knows.

ok well im just going to reinstall everything with my back up...should i just assume that i cannot upgrade to 2.0.21 or should i try again? i ask because i did not find anything wrong with how i downloaded and updated.

well i just went and downloaded the 7.9 version of nuke and only installed the forums and now everything is working great and uptodate...dont know how it got the way it did but its fixed now.

Thanks.

Ok, I don't think it's you kenny, cause I just upgraded from the same version, Nuke 7.9 and bb 2.0.17-2.0.21 and all the other upgrades worked perfect and once I upgrade from 2.0.20-2.0.21 that's when the Hacking Attempt came into play when you click on the Forums on the Home Page. So it's nothing you did, there has to be a file in there somewhere that is doing it.

I'm going to work on only installing certain area's of the Forum from the Original PHP Nuke 7.9 Module Forums folder and see if I can find out where that messed up file is coming from.

I will let you know once I get to it.
