Post Installation Help - Help with problems after installation.

The post display width is out of range.

I get this error for some reason. I do not know how to fix it. This is our setup for avatars:

Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time. The dimensions of the image are restricted to a maximum of 400 pixels wide, and 400 pixels high. Uploaded avatars have a file size limit of 9766 KB, and must be less than or equal to the maximum dimensions. Remotely hosted avatars will be automatically scaled to fit these dimensions.

I can allow someone access to alter files. I have no clue how to do it!

HUH? Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? Are these forum avatars. You can not edit image files on a server and at 400x400 would be extremely large.

Yes they are for our forums, we made them that large to see if they would work. I had them at 100x100 but I get the same error message. I do not know what to do to fix them. I can not even use the avatars in our forum gallery. the site is www.ogangsters.com you can see what I mean with the errors.

First off make sure the images/avatars folder is chmodded to 777

Also and I know this might sound crazy change the allowable image size to something redicoulous like 1000000

I got this info from NukeCode himself thats how he got it working here.

Another more sensible option would be to turn on remote avatar hosting and have your members link to offsite avatars from someplace such as photobucket.com

Yo

I can only offer help in the form of researching the problem....

Seems your not alone....This is a thread at the phpbb.com site...

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=309062&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Read it carefully.....keep in mind versions, updates, etc

And of course, I also would try NukeCodes and Sevens advice...! Cool

I dont understand a thing about codes. The prperties have been changed a while back to max them, and a few looked like they worked, but everyone else does not. Even when turning the links on for offsite, I still get that damn message. It almost makes me want to drop the whole nuke thing and go back to nuke evo.

My only suggestion

My only suggestion at this time would be return the Avatar settings back to their default and let members post their pics in their signatures.....

Their a much better fit there.....

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.....I'd hang loose until 7's or NC gives it some thought. Wink
