Can't Upgrade to Latest Version of phpBB on Nuke Forums

Ok, we already got the Forums Viewable from the main page, read first post of page 2 on this topic for the new problem.

Reason why the topic is changed

took me awhile...

it appears you have the forums folder in its own directory, and not in the module section of your nuke setup...

html/modules/Forums/index.php is your setup currently....

http://tss.freeprohost.com/PHPNuke7.9/html/modules.php?name=Forums....your forums folder should be in the modules section as this url is showing....not in another directory called Forums....

Move the forums folder, out of the Forum directory and into the module one.....

My forums folder is in my modules directory already, it's just not linking to the forums page like it should be.

If you think it still might be that, then I can send you all my stuff and you can see for yourself that it's where it's supposed to be. Maybe you can fix it for me.

Sure

I have some time...I'll take a look if you dont mind.

hop on YIM when you get a chance and we can talk there and figure out the problems, hopefully

Your problem is your hosting configuration. Your site is living 3 folder levels deep within the host. The first being the subdomain (tss)
Then you have a folder called PHPNuke7.9 (folders should NEVER have "." in them) then inside that you have another folder called html

PHP-Nuke can be inside of one folder at most. you have subdomains for your subdomains. This won't work. you need to get everything living in (tss) without all the other gibberish.

Thanks NC....

I thought that was the issue.....I wasn't certain as to why everything else was working.......

Wink

Ok, so your basically saying that I have to get rid of the PHP Nuke 7.9 Folder and just move everything to the top layer?

That is exactly what I am saying. You aren't working with a top level domain, you are working with a subdomain to start with, which means you don't have a lot of room for additional layers.

I am not saying this will fix your issues but, it's a good practice to have these things done correctly to start with. Then you can eliminate any other possible issues.

Ok, now, I have this, since I just moved all the folders out of the html folder and into my main tss.freeprohost folder

http://tss.freeprohost.com/index.php

Only thing is, the Forums Button still doesn't work like it should and lead me to the forums

It still leads me to a blank white page with only the Hosting Banner at the top

Sorry............

and I dont have YIM on this computer..... Confused

That's alright, i think i figured out what the forums problem was, stupid me, i moved a whole phpBB2 folder into the Modules>Forums folder for PHP Nuke, so it wasn't working the way it should be and wasn't bringing up the php nuke forums pages, so what I'm doing is i whiped out all the phpbb forums from the Forums Folder in Nuke, and am putting everything from the nuke folder that i still have in My Documents folder on my computer into the Forums Folder right now through my FTP program, so hopefully once that is completed, it will work, cause right now I can click on forums and it shows me the screen with:

Sorry, such file doesn't exist...

mainly because there is nothing in that file right now, and I'm uploading it all into it now.

I knew it had to be something simple.... Cool

yeah....

I was just going through all the files back and forth with my FTP Program (Core FTP LiE) and i noticed that the folders were totally different. So i was like, WOW, i moved a whole phpbb2 folder into the forums folder for php nuke.

so now i deleted the phpbb2 files out of the forums folder, and am uploading a new fresh copy of the Forums Folder into the php nuke modules folder.

hopefully that does the trick, we will find out soon enough once i have them all pushed over there.

Ok, that seemed to work to get the forums button working again, now when i click on the forums button, it says:

This board has no forums

But, before I even think about putting some categories on there and topics, it says I have to update to the latest version.

So, hopefully I can do this right without screwing it up again, if I do, I will just start over again.

Luckily for directions on this stuff. LOL
