User_Temp to User not happening
I have done a search on what is happening but havent seen anything so I hope I did just miss over it but here it is...
I couple of months ago my hosting service migrated me from a older server I was on for 4.5 years to their newer servers (they both have the same software) and all of a sudden my sql database is not working as before.. When I have a person register on my site
DarkNess Gaming they go through the whole step and at the end it tells then to click here to activate account (running the NoMail Hack), all is good untill they try to log in... I ran may test and during the process everything is correct in the database, the user_verify shows that persons verification question and answer and before they click on "Click here to active" their info is in the user_temp but as soon as they click the activate it takes it out of the user_temp and DOES NOT transfer it to users.. Is this a database issue or something that may have gotten messed up during the migrations.. I have reloaded nCo Modified 7.6 completely fresh and the sql database tables fresh and still the same problem.. Please help... The link above is to the fresh installed nCo... Thanks for any help in this...

If you have added any of the security patches then this will break the No Email hack mod to where it will not work. I would use CNB Your Account 7.5 you can find it by clicking HERE you must install this module after you install all security patches for the Php-Nuke Build. As always always back up your site and sql data incase you break something.
Thanks DBE, Ill give this a shot after I get the kids from school and let you all know how it went..
Nope now it say "ERROR: There was a problem with the database" .... Please give it a check....
DarkNess Gaming
I have it currently set to NOT use email register, should I switch it back to use email register for it to work... Thanks for any and all the help you all have given me getting this up and running...
Ok I have started from scratch to try to track this little bugger down...
1) Set up a fresh non modified version of nCo Modified 7.6 Ultra (non modified as in extras)
2) Set up .sql file in phpMyAdmin 2.6.2pl1
3) Set up Admin info and loged in
4 Set the Preference to be correct (home address and basic stuf)
5) Loged out of Admin
6) Registerd with the site ( nCo Nuke Test Site )
7) Recieved email confermation and clicked on link
Returned to the site onto the login screen and tried to login
9) IT WOULDNT TAKE IT, NO USER FOUND... LOL..
10) Checked phpMyAdmin and noticed that the data did not move from user_temp to user, it was just pain dropped..
HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.. This is really driving me nuts.. LOL.. Been using your package since day released and never had a problem with it and have set up numerous sites, what has changed... ?

The only thing I see differently is this site is set up on a Windows box but that should not effect the sql data. I tried register and recieved the confirm email but then I click it and try to login I get the same error as you. You could try to install CNB Your Account and set it up for instant account actication.
I tried that on the one prior and it didnt work either.. That is why I set up a completely stock, no changes install from the same package I downloaded about 3 years ago (when you first released 7.6 Ultra) and it worked perfectly for all that time.. I have been in contact with the CS of EasyCGI and here is the transcript of all the responses:
Transcripts of Support Tickets. *I put them as download to save on text space.*
As to it being no a WinDOZ box, I have had the same webhost for 4 years and it worked before with no issues... I really dont want to leave them cause they are few and far between that dont use standerdized software as a control panel like vDeck (cant stand that CP) but I am running to my witz end, I just want my sites back...
suggestion..
try a different nuke.....version, branch, whatever.
If it fails also, then you have eliminated something, and I would go back and check your host again.....

On the transcripts there was a response I sent to them of nCo Modified 7.6 Ultra, PhP-Nuke 8 and Nuke-Platinum all being tested and giving the same results. I sent my host a response last night telling them in a round about way that they need to get there heads out of their butts and learn their job as Tech Support and learn how to Troubleshoot... The first thing I would have done in their position is switch that person back to the original location and take the only thing that changed out of the veriable, maybe that is just the Tech Support in me talking (I TS and build PC's for one of my business ventures All-Pro PC.. )
ZMan..did some searching for you....I found this,
http://nukecops.com/postp216198.html#216198
and ran out of time......
Ask them (hosts) to check your config file also, just for S's and Grins...
I think our php experience is about the same, wish I could be more help for you....I know how aggravating it can be....
I tried to resignup, never got the email....I figure your working your tail off to fix it, might have changed something...
LOL.. Funny you mentioned that one, I tried that about 3 weeks ago and forgot to post my outcome.. LOL.. You were right in I was doing some work on the DB the last few days and I may have been working on it when you attempted to regup, I seen your info still in user_temp.. I will try that again cause of some of the work I have done to the DB with my host.. We have come to find out over the last few days and me trying to get my own phpMyAdmin running from my webspace that with the newer version of 2.11.0 there is a script in it to check the checksum and versions of all the librarys in the MySQL Server and found out that when they (my host) upgraded their MySQL a time ago that it did not update the PHP Library.. Ill run that tonight and get back to you all to let you know the outcome.. Thanks for the help bro, I accually did forget about that easy fix and hopefully it will work this time..
Thanks for reminding me about that and using the newer phpMyAdmin the changes in the tables worked but now getting that darn "User Offline" when you go into your account.. I have and remember the old fix for that but have to find it in my archives, havent used that since PhP-Nuke 7.0.. Again thanks for all the help and info you all have given and will post the OFFLINE fix when I find it..
*** UPDATE ***
After I did the fix posted above I went back to the test site and noticed not only did it say "User Status is Offline" but it did not keep me logged in so I logged in again and it went to my account page and when I clicked on home it logged me out again... I found my old text file describing how to fix the OFFLINE issue and inputed it in and now it is keeping the user logged in as it should be still shows the user status as offline, will keep you posted on updates..
USER OFFLINE FIX ------->
Open modules/Your_Account/index.php:
replace: Header("Location: modules.php
with: Header("Refresh: 0;url=modules.php
This line is in there 12 times so make sure you get them all..
Sounds like your kicking its butt some now ZMan...
Hey, its how we all learn eh!
I had trouble once with the security numbers not showing....turned out to be everytime I opened a file in CPanel it left spaces at the end of the code...and the more I opened them to work on a fix, the more spaces it added.....finally, out of blind luck, I deleted the spaces, hey it worked..
I'll keep checking in, and Thanks from all of us for posting your fixes also!!!!!!
We may need them some day!
Well I/We (as in the entire community) finally got the .sql upload/insert fixed, the registration problems fixed and my sanity restored.. HOOYAA.. Thanks to all that helped... BUT... "man, why does there always have to be a but".
"User Status is OFFLINE" is still in que to be worked on "BUT" even though it shows offline the user can go to all the user only areas as in the forums and such so this is on the bottem of my TO DO list.. The fix posted above DID NOT work..
"Cookie function seems to be disabled" is currently being worked on from CNB Your Account 7.5.. The user can still log on and it gives this error but if you click on home you are logged in.. I have allowed all cookies from my site, has its own DNS with URL Direct and still have this problem to work on.
"Forums Disappeared" will be worked on second. I guess in my fit and frustration I took out the flamethrower and torched my forum files.. Not showing any errors just not there.. LOL.. Least of my worries for now..
I have applied all the things done to the test site to DarkNess Gaming so if you dont mind can I get a few people to register so I can make sure that part does work properly and not just on my PC's. That DB will most likely get deleted and reset once I get EVERYTHING working agian.. It still trips me out that before 8-1-07 every one of my sites worked properly and installed without any hitchs for years but then all of a sudden I am having to make all these changes, got to love CORPERATE AMERICA for not listening to their customers and upgrading to stay with the times... Thanks again to everyone and will post what I did to fix these last 3 things as they get fixed...
