I couldn't get it to work either... is very frustrating
If your server is running php5.0 or higher, the quicomm shoutbot probably will not work, no there will not be an update for it.
Use shoutbox 8.5.2 instread, they are inherently the same as far as function 8.5.2 has some cool functions. We are using it on another site and it has been functioning flawlessly for over a year

i have seen shoutboxes
without scrolling up and down and it refresh itself after a shout
now the page need to be refreshed befour you able to read the message and you got to wait some seconds

You couldn't donate enough. shoutbox 8.52 is quicomm shoutbox updated. Both funtion the exact same way, only difference one scrolls the other doesn't. Makin another isn't worth my time.
