Coppermine and URL in photo description problem
Not sure if this is the place to ask, but thought I'd give it a shot and if it's not, if someone can give me the URL of where to go for support (if any) I'd appreciate it.
PHPNuke 8.0 with phpbb 2.23 WinXP Theme and CopperMine v1.3.1c
Coppermine seems to be working OK except for one thing: When a person inserts a web link (URL) into a photo description, it screws up the picture formatting so that below the image, there's a bunch of text that shouldn't be there...it appears immediately below the image, like it's inside the div tag for the image when it should be simply a white border and instead it's got a repeat of the title and description there when it should have nothing.
How do I fix this so that ppl can include URL's in their image descriptions?
YOu can' HTML is not allowed in the decription field. It's text only.
That's the problem....you CAN insert html in the description, because the description field allows for html to be inserted with the FCK editor that comes with it, and the FCK editor includes inserting links and allowing some HTML! So, I guess I need to get rid of the FCK editor that comes with it...oh boy, what fun. Anybody have any idea how I can change it to just a text box then?

I myself would not use a php nuke build over 7.6 as it is bloated with modules you will never use in addition to it being full of security exploits. Removing the FCK editor will be a task at that be sure you backup everything before you begin.
Hey, thanks for the tip.
My site is probably going to be really small and I will be approving members manually (no auto signing up) and I won't be using most of the modules like you say, but that's OK. I'm bloated too so it's all good. LOL
I googled security issues and the "newest" one I could find was from around the beginning of 2007 (a year or more ago).
If it gets hacked, it gets hacked, it's not the end of the world, I'll probably just move on to something else or get the 7.6 build you mention. I'm not making any money off it or anything so it will no more than an inconvenince for me. I'm retired so I have all day to do this.
I'll just live with the coppermine integration as it is..maybe some day I'll tinker with the FCK editor and...oh heck yeah..there are 3 words of computing that I absolutely live by...backup, backup, backup.
I make daily backups of the database, even tho my webhost says they do it, I don't trust it.
You're a sweetheart and thanks for having this site here, I got some nice blocks and stuff and the theme selection is wonderful.

Right Coppermine (which in and of itself is a major security risk) does allow for it. PHPnuke Doesn't. It's protecting itself from bad tags. Coppermine is embedded into phpnuke. PHPNUKE's Rules win.
If coppermine is that bad, can you recommend something else I should use so that ppl can share pictures? I tried emsGallery, but that doesn't allow users to share pictures, just me. I need something that my users can upload images to.
