phpBB forums "special color" and phpNuke "spe

Running nCo Ultra 7.6 Patched 3.1, default...

I've searched around and found bits of code about the "special color" in phpBB and I've asked before about how to set-up the "special group image" in phpNuke. So I know how to set it up, once it exists.

How do I create a new "special" in phpNuke and in the forums....

To be more specific, for those that don't know what I mean by "special".

In phpNuke, the only place I've seen the "special group image" is in the Online Info block. Here it would appear next to the admin after the group has been created.

And in phpBB its the color assigned to Admins and Moderators, by default, once theyve been assigned the appropriate permisions.

I'm assuming I just need the sql and to make simple file edits, but assistance is needed due to all of the code I found was for phpBB stand-alone, never found anything for nuke special images, and I don't want to make any errors.

Thanks

i think i understand what you mean in phpbb you can create user groups and call each group a name like paid members, admins, members, VIP mega cool super blah blah, well you are able to add users to each group you wish and a color will apper depending on what group they are in you are able to pick the color you want for each group it should be in the phpbb admin groups somewhere if you get stuck go here and read up

phpbb forum talking about groups and colors it has a high rating this will sort you problem

Execellent. Thats exactly what I needed, for the forums.

So the first half is complete, I thank you.

So what about the phpNuke special image group?

I'd ask at other sites but as far as I'm concerned nCo is number 1 in support for phpNuke. Thanks

well what i did was create a rank for each group and just edit the members you want to have that logo

Ok, I'll try that.

But, how can I change the logo??

I know I can change the default logo, but it be would be more useful if I could create a new logo for each group/rank...

Maybe someone could create a mod to add a section in the Acp under Preferences so we can just choose the image and the rank or possibly a new module...

I'm sure someones done this already, I've seen it done so there has to be a way.

I'm checking out the php from the online info block right now, as that code has to make a call to the sql, so maybe that will help me a little.

Thanks again

If you are talking about the specific ranks for forums then you must go into your fourms admin area go all the way down to the bottom to User Admin --> Ranks --> Add New Rank --> Set your Rank Title then click yes for Set as Special Rank --> if you want a user to get then rank when they hit a certain number of posts put the post number in --> example of rank image path
Code: :
modules/Forums/images/ranks/3stars.gif
you have to make sure you upload the image you want for this rank to the correct directory. It is easy to get the directory by just clicking on one of the edit for one of the existing ranks and you will find the path there. Hope this helps you out. Then to assign the rank if you have set it to no posts User Admin --> Management --> look up the name then scroll down to the bottom for the Rank Title drop down box and set it then save your changes.

Thank you, really. But, thats not what I meant. I completely understand the forums ranks and special colors now.

I'm talking about the special group image for phpNuke, the only place I've seen it is in the CZUser Info block.

This would appear as an image that reads either Staff or Admin.
I know how to assign the permisions and set up the group for phpNuke to where the image will appear.

But what I want to do is create a NEW special group image/group which would require a change of code in sql, or so I assume.

I was hoping someone created a mod for this but I can't seem to locate anything.

What would be useful is if we could create a mod that allows the Selection of the image to be assigned to the group/admin/moderator in the phpNuke ACP. And also if we could assign/create the permisions/phpNuke rank straight for the phpNuke acp.

Hope this helps you understand me a bit more, when it comes to all the special permisions and ranks and special groups and regular groups and ranks etc phpNuke and phpBB can become very complicated.

Okay, that last post probably confused everyone more,

The special image/rank/special group/whatever you want to call it APPEARS to the RIGHT of an Admin or Moderator in the CZUserInfo block after they have been assigned an Admin/Moderator and AFTER the Group has been created in phpNuke ACP.

So lets say one of you Admins here on nCo went to the HOME page, and looked to the right at the CZUserInfo block, you will than see an IMAGE that reads either Admin(most likely this for any admin here) or Staff next to your name.
.

On my site I have only one ADMIN so I changed the image and it reads OWNER instead of Admin

And the point is that this needs a section in the phpNUKE ACP so it can be configured more easily or disabled altogether.

Maybe theres a better group system/mob out that would better suit my needs, but than there would be alot of code that would need removed.

I'm willing to PAY for this, whatever your price may be, IF you would allow for it to be open source after your work is done.

Let me know.
