Post Installation Help - Help with problems after installation.
Forum Post goes blank
ok i have installed the 7.6 ultra from the home page here and set up the forums and activated it. when i try to post i preview shows me then when i post it gives me a blank page and no post
any thoughts
Did you create your main catergories and the sub-catergories. You will also need to make sure your forums are configured properly by going back to your admin clicking on the Forums icon. Look under General Adminstration for the Configuration link and click on that and configure your forums.
yes i created a test catagory and a test forum and activated it all and when i try to post when i submit it goes to a blank page.

Did you do this as well ?
You didn't mention if you patched the site. So let me ask you, did you? If so did you run the upgrader?
no patch i have not i downloaded. i downloaded 7.6 updaded with 3.0 from this site or another thinking maybe something is wrong with what i have and just a fresh install and still nothing

did you run the upgrader for 3.0 after you installed it.
nope not a thing fresh from the box

Just one question did you install this before you tried to install the 7.6 ultra 3.0 ?
yes i had that one on there then i removed all of it the installed the 3.0 and now it or the other will not work they guys at my webhost have tried to install it for me and they tell me there are Errors in the MySQL file.
There are no errors in the SQL file. I personally have installed nCo ultra over 50 times on various sites with no errors.
If you want me to take a look at it send me the login info for your cpanel and ftp as well as an admin login. You can send these items in a PM on the site.

ok that is the first mistake you removed the entire install of 7.6 ultra from you site. Here is the second | Quote: : |

after you removed 7.6 ultra you then tried to upload the 7.6.0.3.0 ultra which is a PATCH file only doesnt contain the full install of 7.6 ultra. Of course it wont work you cant delete the full install, then upload the patch you just broke it right there. My suggestion that you download and install this after setting up your god account you can either download the 3.0 patch for 7.6 ultra or you can download the 3.1 patch for 7.6 ultra then apply the patch which ever one you choose by reading the enclosed directions. When you upload a full install of a php-nuke build to a website you should never delete it to install the patch. You upload and over ride all of the files that are contained with the patch then run the upgrade file or upgrade sql file. And as we always suggest before doing any kind of modifications on any working website to always backup fully the site and the database.

Contains phpbb 2.0.16
1. Backup your site and database before proceeding.
2. Adjust the settings in the conf/settings.php file to match your site.
3. Upload all files (take your time and make sure you do any edits needed for modules and addons you added).
4. Login as admin and run upgrade.php (if this script doesn't work use upgradedb.sql).
5. Then run upgrade15-16.php
6. Remove the upgraders from your FTP.
7. If your statistics don't work use the statistics.sql file contained in the statistics fix folder.
Warning!!!!! Make sure you backup before proceeding we will not fix your site if you break it.
Note: This is a patch not a full intstall. You must have nCo Ultra 7.6 Installed BEFORE procceding with this patch.
