Upgrading nuke 6.0 on Yahoo hosting.

Hello everyone,

I am currently having problems upgrading nuke. My site is hosted by Yahoo (premium account). They offer nuke as part of their package but do not offer any support. They state that they have 6.5 but they actually offer 6.0. Well here is the deal, I would like to upgrade my version of nuke from 6.0 (have three failed attempts). So here is my question, is it possible to upgrade on the hosting where they control the database? And if so where can I get a tutorial to guide me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Could you elaborate on what you mean by not having access to the database? Might make it easier to help you.

Sorry, I couldn't get back right away. It is not that I don't have access to the database. What I mean is that Yahoo installs everything from your database, myadmin and nuke. The only thing you do is choose the path where you want it installed. So after trying to upgrade their. 6.0 t0 6.5 I get a site with no modules or blocks and no forum. The error I get for the forums is bb_config does not exist.

Thanks for your help.

If they are doing your hosting and you want to go from 6.0 to 6.5 you have to upload and run the update sql file for each version between 6.0 and 6.5. Meaning you have to upload the update files for 6.1 and run the update sql file then go to 6.2, 6.3 and so on.

Does Yahoo also upload the files to the site or is this something you do on your own and Yahoo just runs the sql files ? As far as your forums go I havent dealt with any versions of 6.0 nuke. I would suggest that you find a host that will let you install the newer versions of the nuke as the older versions are full of security holes that can be exploited.

I can upload the files but they would excute the sql files. I am going to try this tomorrow when I get home from work. I will let you know how it went. Once again thanks for all your help.

Yahoo and upgrading

Thank you very much. It actually worked. Right now I am currently running Nuke 6.9 and I am now in the process of upgrading to the most current version that Yahoo will accept. Thank you once again. What I did was upload all the files to the right directory, but instead of executing sql from root I executed in myadmin. I didn't know that I could do that. But it worked so thanks very much.
