Hi there im having problems with my forum, every time i create or make a new post, the post looks like this:

All newbies, if you've got a question, go here:<br /><br /><a href="modules.php?name=FAQ&myfaq=yes&id_cat=1&categories=Mackclub+Newbies">http://www.mackclub.co.uk/community/modules.php?name=FAQ&amp;myfaq=yes&amp;id_cat=1&amp;categories=Mackclub+Newbies</a><br /><br />Look up the questions being asked and see if they relate to your question.<br /><br />Devil

can someone tell me how do i make it so those br's and stuff don't show up on the page?

Thanks in advance Very Happy

Yeah don't use them, You don't need them in forum posts and they will be turned into text if Disable HTML is turned on

in forums carriage returns are automatically converted to linebreaks so you do not need the <br>

no the thing is i don't use it when i make posts, they just appear after i have submitted my posts.

I've turned HTML on and turned it off aswell... really confusing..

Having same issue. Running brand new install of 7.7 and whether I have html on or off, I get the message with the tags instead of the actual message. Hmmm...

Oh, and smilies aren't working either, and I have them enabled. Weird.

Read this regarding your html issue I would also read the next page of that forum post. In regards to your smileys not showing up I suggest that you reupload and override the modules/Forums/images folder with the one from your install. Sounds like it didnt upload all of the images the first time. That should take care of your smiley problem. I would manually check to be sure that the smileys are actually in that directory before uploading.

Thanks!!

Did the simple fix in post#1 of that linked discussion and it not only fixed my forum issue, but the smilies issue as well.

I knew I came to the right place!

Thanks! Cool
