News topic icons set to invalid path with nuke7.9
I recently upgraded my site to nuke 7.9, upon doing so my nuke news topic icons are no longer working, when i see the attempted path its directing the icons to simply images/topics, but no image name, even though set in the news topic as its posted.
See:
Homepage (icons not working)
More-so the icons actually work when going to:
Topics page{icons work)
I am using PHP nuke 7.9, no mods installed.
I used dreamweaver to search for all instances of "images/topics" I get the below as a result:
REMOVED BY ADMIN
Can anyone advise on if there is an obvious error i'm missing?
Make sure you have your topic images upload to your images/topics folder of your site. Make sure they are in .gif format, and not tooo big that it will throw the width of your site off. Next go to your admin panel click on topics then make a new topic or make sure the topics have been made and are correctly labeled. Then make a post be sure that you select your topic when you make this post. This should solve your problem.
Yeah i thought that would be the case, I even recreated a few of the topics, to no avail. There all 50x50, and as i said they show up in the topics link i posted above, just not on the homepage.
I did however try what you stated once more, and still does not work.
Appreciate your help, got any other thoughts?
We will check into this matter futher, but 7.9 was released with alot of holes this may very well be one that wasnt patched. I would suggest that you patch your site to chatserv 3.1. I will see what i can find out may very well be a bug that is easily fixed.
Make a backup copy of your entire images/topics folder. Then delete it off the server. Reupload it and then chmod it to 666
Also is your site patched?
I attempted the above, backing up and reuploading with the suggested permissions. To no avail, I will attempt when I get home to apply the chatserv patch as suggested. Perhaps I should roll back to 7.7 until the issues are resolved with 7.9...
I very much appreciate your time gentlemen.

7.7 has all the same security issues (the HTML editor) as 7.9 I personally would not use anything higher then 7.6 it's secure and most of the bugs have been patched out of it. The HTML editor opens up security holes that even NukeSentinel can't stop.
Just some food for thought.
just FYI, and for anyone else with this issue, its solved here:

Good job but we could have resolved this had you answered 7of9 when she asked you if your site was patched.
i hear ya, i'm still rolling back anyhow in light of seven's advice. This was just something i happened to stumble upon shortly after. I just figured i'de heed sevens advice, and save myself lots of bugs, rather then post a lot more threads in here

Really appreciate the help though fellas.
Ok cool have a great day and good luck with the rollback
